This is the how we enjoy our first cup of coffee in Fountain Hills, Arizona
Fountain Hills – Real Estate Az
Fountain Hills, Arizona gets its name from the astounding concrete water lily fountain in the town center that can power a stream of water 560 feet skyward. This town is the essence of the word picturesque where there are few streetlights to inhibit the brilliant starlit evening skies. Fountain Hills has a population of approximately 22,500 very satisfied people thriving in a community that resonates with vigorous enjoyment. The inherent beauty of Fountain Hills is a treasured part of its livability. Everywhere you turn there are astonishing vistas with the desert landscape offering a splendid range of recreational pastimes. Fountain Hills is home to the most demanding yet scenic golf courses found anywhere in Arizona State.

When you take a tour of Fountain Hills, you will frequently notice the public art proudly on display at public centers and noticeably exhibited around town. The theme of this art is community oriented featuring bronze and metal sculptures, paintings, photography and stone pieces. There are eight water fountains on the appropriately named Avenue of the Fountains - these being the start of the growing municipal art menagerie. This is an art town and each year the Local Art Fair and the Fountain Hills Great Fair turn the community into one large open-air art gallery with the Great Fair also hosting a carnival. Be sure to join in an Art Walk tour through the streets.

Despite the big Western drought, cattle continue to take majority of West’s water -- Biggest water user is most definitely not the cities of the West -- When we look at biggest use of water in the Western United States, livestock, meaning cattle, stands alone.

It’s February 2015 and most of the West remains locked in a great drought. It covers all of the West except Montana, Wyoming and about a third of Colorado and Idaho. California, Nevada, and southeast Oregon are locked into the drought the worst. All the water users are trying to conserve. There are very controversial efforts to briefly expand the supply of water by drilling deeper and pumping aquifers even harder, to make it to the end of the drought. This assumes it will have an end.

Competing uses and users of water struggle economically and also politically with each other. Some commercial and environmental interests try to retain some water for fish and wildlife.

Part of the problem of allocating this fading vital resource is the perception of who uses the most water. We commonly hear people complain about the waste of maintaining bluegrass lawns in an arid region. There are similar complaints about ornamental fountains, water parks, car washes, swimming pools, and the like. Cities in general consume water, it’s said. All this, however, pales when compared to agriculture.

There are many ways to present water use figures, but in general in California, ag takes about four times as much water as urban areas.

California grows many high value crops such as almonds, onions, strawberries, lettuce, cotton, beans, tomatoes. Few states grow so many high value crops, but nonetheless, the biggest agricultural user in California is, directly and indirectly, livestock. It’s irrigated pasture, alfalfa hay, including much exported hay, corn and grain to feed the livestock.

California produces a diversity of livestock, but the lion’s share is cattle.

The Golden State, however, gives us a misleading picture of the amount of water consumed by cattle because California has such a diverse economy. If we look at other western states, cattle as dominant water user truly soars to the top of water use.

Unfortunately, beef is a very inefficient way of making protein. No major food is so wasteful of the inputs that create it, and during a drought this makes it doubly the problem. Where is reform?

A new article by Christopher Ketcham shows just how much production of this extravagant meat dominates, depletes the west, and captures its politics. “Big Cattle, Big Gulp: http://www.newrepublic.com/article/120915/american-west-drought-being-worsened-livestock-industry Cowboys and cows are soaking the American West dry.” The New Republic.

By Ralph Maughan.
Article Source: http://www.thewildlifenews.com/2015/02/04/drought-cattle-water-west/

This exhibition surveys the symbiotic relationship in Noguchi's work between sculpture and design in the years leading up to the 1939 World's Fair and his extensive design work beyond this period up to 1985. Between 1932 and 1939 he designed cases for an interval clock and a baby monitor; proposed Bolt of Lightning, Memorial for Ben Franklin and Monument to the Plow, a 1,200 ft on a side, tilled and crop-rotated pyramid earthwork surmounted by an abstracted stainless steel plow; invented an internally lighted, musical weather vane; collaborated on several left-leaning architectural projects; designed a swimming pool (unbuilt) for a Richard Neutra house for a famous film director in Los Angeles; helped Fuller shape his Dymaxion Car; and finally created a monumental fountain for Ford Motor Company's World's Fair pavilion, celebrating an abstract assemblage of parts from the company's famous drivetrain. Neither at the time, nor since, has any artist or designer better exemplified the spirit of the 1939 World's Fair, "Building the World of Tomorrow," than Noguchi, who would ultimately hold every recognized intellectual property right (including thirteen US patents) and was among the most versatile designers to walk the planet since the likes of Renaissance do-it-alls like Donatello, Michelangelo and Leonardo.

Patent Holder was developed in response to a borough-wide call to celebrate the 75th and 50th anniversaries of the two Queens World's Fairs of 1939-40 and 1964. The shape the show has taken owes an enormous amount to original research contained in Dr. Deborah A. Goldberg's unpublished dissertation Isamu Noguchi: The Artist as Engineer and Visionary Designer, 1918-1939 (Institute of Fine Arts, NYU, 2000). A fully illustrated catalogue is available with an essay by Dr. Goldberg.

Banpo Bridge Water Fountain
Location: Seoul, South Korea

Banpo Bridge Water Fountain is located in Seoul along the Hangang River which is located beside the Hangang Park. In 2007 the Hangang Renaissance Project was launched to create, develop and revive the river area as a recreational area for locals and tourists to hang out. Part of this project was the Banpo Bridge Water Fountain.

The fountain was named “Moonlight Rainbow”. The fountain shoots down 190 tons of water per minute to the river from each side of the bridge with its 380 nozzles. At night the color of the fountain will be transformed to that of a rainbow by the 200 lights that radiate various colourful effects.

In 2008 the Banpo Fountain made it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest bridge fountain.
“The longest bridge fountain is located on the Banpo Grand Bridge over the Han River in Seoul (South Korea) which measures 1,140 metres (3,740 ft 1 in). It was constructed by Seoul Metropolitan Infrastructure Headquarters.”

Information Source:
http://www.exploringkorea.com/banpo-bridge-water-fountain/

http://nexttriptourism.com/banpo-bridge-tourism-south-korea/

We are now outside the Xi'an Beilin Museum of stone stele. Before paper the Chinese wrote stories, poems and history on stone stele and 900 large stele have been brought here to this location from around the country. An additional 2,000 small fragments have also been brought here. Michael said we were the only tourists in six years that had asked to come see this place. I'm a landscape designer and the founder and president of GROUNDS KEEPER, Inc. My team and I create indoor lifestyles outside for residents in and around Monmouth County, New Jersey.

Since I began our business in 1973 as a neighborhood lawn service out of my parent's garage, GROUNDS KEEPER has grown into a professional firm with a staff of landscape designers and architects with over 100 years of cumulative experience working together. Among other top honors, the New Jersey Flower & Garden Show has awarded our team
Our focus is on designing and building the outdoor living space of your dreams by choosing plants and other design elements that will fit your lifestyle and work best under the specific conditions within your outdoor living environment.

Our designs inspire you to celebrate the rhythms of the season while you enjoy the moment and look forward to the next. Native trees, shrubs, perennials and ornamental grass are chosen for uniqueness, seasonal change and the attraction of wildlife.

Your garden will include sound and movement, interesting textures and unique seasonal colors along with berry bearing and fragrant plants to aid in enticing birds and butterflies into the garden. This naturalistic approach creates a living, breathing and changing landscape that you can enjoy with all your senses year round.

We also incorporate patios, pergolas, arbors, decks, fencing, music, pools, fountains, ponds, waterfalls, lighting, furniture, art and stone elements to create an outdoor living space that is an extension of your home.

If you would like to discover how your outdoor space can become part of your living space, reach out to me for an on-site consultation or visit our landscape designer showroom where you can see, touch, smell and experience first hand some of our naturalistic landscape features.

Despite the big Western drough...

Isamu Noguchi, Patent Holder: ...

Isamu Noguchi, Patent Holder: Designing the World of Tomorrow

Reception
February 3, 2015, 5 - 9:00 pm

On Exhibit
January 15 – March 19, 2015

The proverb

Lo...

Helping you with #Healthy #Aging for #Wellness and #Longevity
http://pilotbaymedia.tumblr.com

Wouldn’t it be great if we could go to a fountain of youth and stay young forever? Yet, we all have to face the fact of getting old, since it’s a part of life. We have nil control over aging, since each year, you will get older on your birthday. Until we are no longer, able to be here on earth we have to work to have a degree of control over healthy aging. Nevertheless, you have choices, which include some of the things you can do to help you feel younger. Do you recall that saying you are only as old as you feel? If so then take care of yourself so that you will feel younger than you are.

What are some of the things I can do to feel younger?
You have several choices, which includes exercise and diet. This will make you feel a lot better as you start aging. You have to eat three meals a day, which your family doctor can help you decide on the right diet for you. Then while you are at the doctors you might want to ask him/her what kind of exercises you can do.

Walking is a good exercise to do, but swimming is the best exercise that you can do as long as you swim in fresh water not a pool. The bleach in the water isn’t good for you. Swimming pools are great however, since you can keep them as clean as you wish, providing you have your own pool. Remember when you start out exercising, take it slow and be careful so you do not harm your self. You can also take vitamins to help you as well. Vitamins will help the boost your mood. Vitamins will supply ingredients that boost your energy so that you can do what you want to do in life. You want to stay active to live in healthy aging. Some people are too busy to incorporate activities into their life to keep them healthy. Don’t let this be you.

Socialize with people and visit different places, doing things that you have not done but always wanted to do in life can help. Perhaps you can take a trip to Paris or England.

What are some of the things I need to stay way from?
Some of the things you may want to stay from are unwarranted stress. Stress will wear you down. Stress can affect your health, which in turn you feel ill. In fact, unwarranted stress is not good for the heart. Stress will make you feel depressed also, which shows stress is not good for the mind.

Depression is not good for you either this is another thing you will want to stay away from if you are equipped to avoid it. You will want to stay away from people that will bring you down in life. You need someone that will help uplift you, not wear you down.

Remember when you want to stay younger you have to stay healthy in order to do that you have to exercise, eat right and stay as active as you can. Adhering to the golden rules will help you to maintain and be healthy. Also, remember to visit your family doctor before starting diets, exercise or taking supplements and vitamins. If you rely on over-the-counter medicines to treat colds, consult with your doctor first. What you take may be what costs your life later.

Some over-the-counter medications are responsible for increasing the risks of heart disease, prostate cancer and so on.
